"Wooing of the Woodcock" is a fiber piece that features freehand machine stitching and painting. A Greater Prairie Chicken headed woman is freehand machine stitched on cotton that is then appliqued and reinforced stitch on to Toile decor fabric. A leatherwood plant is also a freehand machine stitched for the outlines and for the color filling directly on the toile. The American Woodcock is freehand machine stitched, layering colors to create the illusion of depth with thread.
The Final piece is stretched onto a 18" X 18" wooden, vintage embroidery hoop.
