Read the cute story but stay 'til the end for an update: Sunglasses Guy found himself stuck on a deserted island. Pondering what to do and who will rescue him, bottles filled with messages started washing on shore. Why? What do they say? And who is coming to rescue him? Opened bottles, corks, and letters surround Sunglasses Guy on the beach while he reads one letter through his rose-colored glasses. A plover looks on. Bottles continue to approach the shore.
Painted during my artist residency at Art Ovation Hotel in Sarasota, FL the week of October 7-12, 2025, I encouraged visitors to write Sunglasses Guy a message in a small notebook I keep near the painting that I finished Oct 9th. I hope to gain a few dozen messages that will be compiled into a small booklet to accompany the painting when it's sold. What a cool conversation piece to hang in your home or office along with the notes from well-wishers?

UPDATE: I had received almost a dozen notes from visitors to Sunglasses Guy in my book. One day I returned to my residency and the book was gone. Vanished! Stolen? And I never found it; the hotel staff never found it. I left it on the study counter next to my Guest book. That was still there; the notebook to Sunglasses Guy was gone.
