At the moment, my painting is concerned with the search for form and with the interplay between line and surface, between structure and dissolution. This work radiates controlled unrest: a carefully calibrated balance between sign-like qualities and gestural freedom. Flowing areas of paint, drips, splashes, and linear elements overlap and intensify, creating tension between assertion and dissolution.
In Red, Shifted., an intense red form dominates the pictorial field. It does not occupy a stable center but appears deliberately displaced, slightly tilted, as if held in a state of controlled movement. Layers of pink, white, and darker maroon tones unfold around it, overlapping, interlocking, and dissolving again. The raw canvas background keeps this tension open and amplifies the presence of color.
The graphic structures recall studies or sketches — a probing exploration of form. They are intentionally shifted, incomplete, and open, searching and testing, yet at the same time decisive. It is precisely this displacement, this subtle sense of being slightly off, that gives the work its presence and inner stability.
