Taino
The internal dialogue of someone dying to be seen in a place that was not made to see them. A conversation Aryanna has had with themself several times growing up as a mixed Puerto Rican individual in Eugene. Unpacking feelings of alienation and inadequacy, along with learning to resist the impulse of constantly justifying one’s existence to those who have no idea what it is like to be Puerto Rican, but instead have a predetermined notion as to what makes and doesn’t make someone Puerto Rican.
