Created as a celebration of the establishment of the City of Joondalup, the artist has used documentary and symbolic imagery to construct a highly engaging work. The viewer ‘looks’ through a colonnade-like structure, symbolizing the building of the Civic Chambers in 1997, across open space to the Joondalup Courthouse, opened in 1992. The people of Joondalup are symbolized through the heavily folded and entwined fabric in the foreground of the artwork.
