Leon Pericles is one of Western Australia’s most respected printmakers. Close inspection of “He Must Be Using Maggots,” (1994) reveals an amusing depiction of recreational fishing. The Widji. Museum, to which this artwork was apparently presented, locates this artwork amongst the many that Pericles has produced about Widjimorphup, a town that is fictional yet utterly familiar.
