Artist: Concetta Petrillo
Connie Petrillo is a Western Australian artist and curator. She has a PhD from Curtin University, Master of Curatorial Studies in Fine Arts, and a Post Graduate Degree in Fine Arts both from the University of Western Australia. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts: Visual Arts majoring in Painting and Photo Media from Edith Cowan University and a Diploma in Art Studies from the Perth School of Art and Design.
Petrillo has over 20 years experience in curatorial management of art collections and has established a comprehensive network throughout Australia. She was Curator and Manager of the ECU Art Collection for over fifteen years, in which she composed and presented local and national exhibitions and their associated educational and promotional programs.
Petrillo is a well-known Perth-based artist who produces and exhibits challenging and thought-provoking large-scale realistic narratives that make decisive statements on local and national events and contemporary social issues that concern her as an artist and a woman. Her works are held in private and public collections throughout Western Australia.
