In ‘Meeting Points’, Windberg uses separate panels, alternate approaches and multiple materials (both organic and synthetic) to depict iconic landmarks within the City of Joondalup.
The organic is represented on the left panels of each structure which feature engraved images made from layers of bound ash, charcoal and resins on canvas. The right-hand panels are made from synthetic materials, namely digital prints under layers of mesh.
The left-hand images are "slightly shifted viewpoints looking west, into the last light, at the upland vegetation from Neil Hawkins Park. The main tree is Tuart, and the other vegetation includes Marri & Acacia." The right-hand images are "of Lake Joondalup in brooding light, looking east, from same location." - Tony Windberg, Artist Statement.
