"Yutori" is a Japanese term referring to the concept of living with spaciousness, especially with respect time. It’s about the absence of rush, time to do nothing until you notice something, make a connection, hold space for another. Nothing happens on these docks in the winter, suggesting the quiet time the season holds. This view was offered up on one of my foggy morning ventures on my stand-up paddle board on Green Lake in Seattle. The collage pieces are from an old shopkeeper’s ledger, hand-written in Kanji in a beautiful hand-bound book.
