"Celebraciones" is a watercolor sculpture, painted on hot press watercolor paper, then folded into a pyrimad shape. I added weights inside to provide stability. As you view each side of the sculpture you see a woman from Guatemala holding her child following a Christening. A young man, I assumed to be the father stood proudly to her side, and on fhe far side of the baby is a woman I assume to be one of the grandmothers. Celebrations of special moments are precious to hold onto and cherish the memories. My paintings of figures are intended to capture moments and tell stories of life.
