The pieces in this collection vary from non-objective to representational with various levels of abstraction.

Most of the paintings in this collections are mammals with just a few birds included. Most of the bird paintings are gathered in their own collection.

The giclee prints are printed with achival inks tested to last at least 25 years. They are available printed on watercolor paper or canvas, both being acid free media that will not yellow with time. They are printed from very high resolution images so they can be printed up to four times the size of the original painting without seeing pixelation.

If an item says SOLD, I may just need to order more from the limited edition, so don't hesitate to Message me with a question.

I love experimenting to see how little I can show in a painting while maintaining a stong design that lets the story shine without adding too many details. I hope you enjoy these simplified offerings.

The title of the collection explains the content. I've create the birds using a variety of painting styles and techniques. By clincking on am image you can learn more about the piece and can also vote on a favorite to give me some feedback. You will have to log in to vote which will add you to my contact list. I use that list only to communicate with you if you inquire about a piece. I'll ask before adding you to my e-newsletter, althought those are sent only once or twice per month.

This collection can be views by the ocean, lakes, or any body of water. You may see people engaged at activities by the water, or details of boats. If water is involved you will find it here.

This collection are scene you may see in more rural areas around the world. Most of these fall in the category of paintings that I feel are very serene.

Paintings dedicated to bicycles and cyclists. Many of my paintings in this series were inspired by the energy of cyclists. There is a triathlon locally where the entrants ride their bicycles through our town. I often go out during the race to photograph them. I love to show their speed and energy in my paintings.

Paintings that are beyond reality, feeling like they belong in a dream.

April M Rimpo's Inner Stories figurative paintings tell stories about the person portrayed as compared to a typical portrait. The stories could be their favorite activities, something about the culture they live in, or their history. These paintings reflect things the subject told April about themselves or maybe April's personal impression of their inner spirit. Lastly, these inner stories may reflect how the subject creates their own art.

April M Rimpo loves creating large pieces. Exploring larger spaces allows for my space to expand ideas and to let the paint flow freely, allowing her to "chase the paint" and see where it takes her. Many of these paintings are over 3 feet in at least one dimension with some in the 4 foot by 5 foot range. The smallest work in this category is about 2 feet by 3 feet.

April M Rimpo's paintings with multiple figures generally tell stories about events. The energy of the people and the event that brought them together is communicated through color choices and textures used in the painting. April's philosophy, "Using Color and Light to Tell Stories of Life" is highly visible in these paintings.

The energy that musicians put into their performances inspires me to share them through my eyes.
