Artadia San Francisco Award

What: A $10,000 award for a selected artist in San Francisco. Awards are based on merit. The award money can be used however the artist sees fit.

Who: All visual artists living and working in the current award city of San Francisco

Application Deadline: August 1

Location: San Francisco

ISAP 9th Annual International Open Online Exhibition

What: An online exhibition for acrylic works hosted by the International Society of Acrylic Painters.

Who: Acrylic painters ages 18 and over

Application Deadline: August 1

Exhibition Start Date: August 20, 2018

Fee: $35 for up to 2 submissions

Fine Print: All entries must be executed with 80% of the surface done in the acrylic medium on any surface. Due to copyright issues all identifiable collage pictures must contain only original photographic images taken by the artist. Learn more here.

 

7th Annual Juried Exhibition

What: A juried exhibition for all emerging and established artists hosted by JF Gallery

Who: All artists

Application Deadline: August 3

Exhibition Dates: September 1 - 29, 2018

Opening Reception: September 15, 6-9 PM

Location: West Palm Beach, FL

Fee: $35 for one to three submissions

Gateway to Imagination

What: Submit your work for inclusion in the 19th annual Gateway to Imagination: A National Juried Art Competition.

Who: U.S. artists, 18 years or older

Application Deadline: August 3

Exhibition Dates: September 24 - December 1, 2018

Opening Reception: September 22, 6-8 PM

Location: Farmington, NM

Fee: $45 for up to 3 submissions

2019 S&R Foundation Washington Award

What: The S&R Foundation Washington Award recognizes talented emerging artists working in visual arts, music, and dance.

Who: Artists working in music, dance, or visual arts, including painting, photography, sculpture or interdisciplinary arts, 18 years and older

Application Deadline: August 3

Amount: $10,000

Fine Print: Application requires biography, CV and photographs of your work. Award winners will be invited to the Washington Award Ceremony in Washington D.C. in Spring 2019. Learn more here.

 

Fall of the Leaf: Autumn Art Show

What: Kaviar Gallery is currently seeking submissions of Autumn-inspired artworks for the upcoming exhibition, “Fall of the Leaf.”

“Through the Lens” Photography Show

What: We've all heard the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” A photograph captures a particular moment in time - for eternity. It serves as a memory of a life experience, or perhaps an emotion one will never forget. Las Laguna Gallery is now accepting submissions of all types of photography.

Who: Photographers worldwide, of all ages and experience levels

SCWS 2018 National Annual Exhibition

What: A juried exhibition hosted by the South Carolina Watermedia Society.

Who: U.S. water media artists, ages 18 and over

Application Deadline: August 4

Exhibition Dates: October 6 - November 26, 2018

Opening Reception: October 6

Location: Columbia, SC

Fee: $50 (SCWS members may enter their first piece free, and an additional piece for $20; students may receive a submission discount as well)

Fine Print: All entries must be executed in water media, such as watercolor, acrylic, gauche, etc. Collage is acceptable; however, the painting must be primarily painted. No oils or water-soluble oils will be accepted. Learn more here.

 

Sculpture on the Lawn 2018

What: Artists are invited to submit work - existing or conceptual - for the fourth annual Sculpture on the Lawn exhibition, an outdoor display in the heart of downtown Orlando, where the works are visible to approximately 10,000 people daily.

Who: Sculptors (Open to experienced professionals as well as students and emerging artists who specialize in the design, construction and installation of outdoor sculptures.)

Application Deadline: August 5

Installation Dates: October 1 - 12, 2018

Opening Reception: October 19, 5:30-7:30 PM

Location: Orlando, FL

Fine Print: The theme of “Diversitastic!” has been added to this year’s exhibition. We welcome large-scale sculptures that celebrate diversity in our communities and the interweaving of different backgrounds, cultures and religions. Learn more here.

 

Abstract International Photography Exhibition

What: An abstract photography exhibition hosted by the Center for Fine Art Photography.

Who: Photographers worldwide

Application Deadline: August 5

Exhibition Dates: November 15- December 15, 2018

Artist Reception: December 7, 2018

Location: Fort Collins, CO

Fee: Members: $28 for 3 images, $8 for each additional image. Non-members: $38 for 3 images, $10 for each additional image.

Fine Print: In order to be included, the artist must provide a professionally printed and presented image for gallery exhibition. To encourage participation by photographers internationally, The Center offers optional, production services. Learn more here.

 

Art Comes Alive (ACA)

What: ACA awards over $300,000 to artists and is nationally recognized as 'The Academy Awards for Artists.” Jurors will cast their votes for the top artists who will be showcased in a final 150 artist exhibit.

Who: U.S. artists

Application Deadline: August 5

Exhibition Dates: October 6 - November 30, 2018

Opening Reception: October 6

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Fee: $55 for the 1st image, $25 for the 2nd image, $15 for the 3rd image, 4th image is free

Southern Printmaking Biennale VIII International

What: A juried exhibition for printmaking. Submissions must be original, innovative works in all printmaking media including mono-prints, monotypes, large-scale prints, three- dimensional prints, created at any point in your career.

Who: Printmakers around the globe, 18 years and older

Application Deadline: August 6

Exhibition Dates: October 1 - 26, 2018

Location: Dahlonega, GA

Fee: $35 for 3 to 5 submissions

Fine Print: The award is a one-person exhibition in the Fall of 2019, in addition, the winner will be the Juror for the Southern Printmaking Biennale IX International 2020. In 2024, a retrospective exhibition of all one-person exhibition winners will be held. Learn more here.

 

4th Annual Hand Pulled Prints: The Current Practice in Printmaking

What: An international juried exhibition at Site:Brooklyn reflecting the ambitious, innovative and contemporary in printmaking today. Highlighting traditional printmaking processes in any combination of serigraphy, letterpress, collagraph, etching, woodcut, lithography, linocut, drypoint, mezzotint, monoprint and solar plates.

Who: Printmakers worldwide, 18 and over

Exhibition Dates: September 21 –October 21, 2018

National Endowment for the Arts | Our Town Grant

What: Our Town is the National Endowment for the Arts’ creative placemaking grants program. Our Town grants support place-based and knowledge building projects that integrate arts, culture, and design activities into efforts that strengthen communities by advancing local economic, physical, and/or social outcomes.

Who: Arts organizations

Application Deadline: August 9

Amount: $25,000 - $200,000

Fine Print: It’s strongly recommended that you register/renew your Grants.gov/SAM registration by at least July 19, 2018, and submit the SF-424 to Grants.gov by at least July 30, 2018. Funding is available on July 1, 2019. Learn more here.

 

Merged

What: Merged is a national exhibition of self-expressive collage and assemblage artworks. The collage and assemblage artworks in this exhibition effectively convey the artist's thoughts, feelings, and/or ideas.

Who: U.S. collage artists, 18 and older

Application Deadline: August 10

Exhibition Dates: September 8 - October 6, 2018

Opening Reception: September 13, 5:30-7:30 PM

Location: Norfolk, VA

Fee: $35 for up to 3 works

KUNST 2018 in Berlin

What: KUNST 2018 is an international collective exhibition during Berlin Art Week with works from different continents and using a variety of media.

Who: Artists worldwide

Application Deadline: August 10

Exhibition Dates: September 26 – 30, 2018

London Pop Up Art Fair

What: The London Pop Up Art Fair is hosted by Sunny Art Centre in the heart of the city London. This art fair is intended to be a launch pad for the very best young and emerging artists from across the UK and the world.

Who: Artists worldwide, 18 and over

Application Deadline: August 15

Fair Dates: June 6 - 8, 2018

Location: London, ENG

Fee: £30 for 1 work, plus £5 for each additional submission, £48 for 5 works, £50 for 8 works, £53 for 10 works. There are NO other additional fees once your work has been shortlisted.

Fine Print: Sculptures, paintings, drawings, original prints, photography, ceramics, and jewelry are all accepted (The maximum size of each artwork is 1 m x 1 m, including the frame for paintings). Learn more here.

 

ON::VIEW Artist in Residency

What: The ON::VIEW residency provides a free, high visibility studio space for an artist to complete a four-week project. Sulfur Studios is currently accepting applications for the following residency periods.

Who: All artists

Application Deadline: August 15

Residency Periods: September 11 – October 7, October 9 – November 4, and November 12 – December 9

Location: Savannah, GA

Fee: $25

Fine Print: Application requires project description, artist statement, resume/bio, and 8 to 10 images of recent work. Artists coming from out of town must cover their own housing and travel costs. Learn more here.

 

2018 National Juried Exhibition at Larkin Arts

What: A national juried exhibition for two-dimensional media. Painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, and mixed media works with a maximum depth of five inches; as well as other traditional or non-traditional two-dimensional media, excluding film, are welcome.

Who: U.S. artists, 18 and over

Application Deadline: August 15

Exhibition Dates: October 5 – 27, 2018

Location: Harrisonburg, VA

Fee: $35 for up to 2 works

The Latin American Contemporary Fine Art Competition

What: The competition offers artists from Latin America, the Caribbean and the Latin American diaspora the unique opportunity to present their art to an international audience in the famous art district of Chelsea, in New York City.

Who: Latin American artists, 18 and over

Application Deadline: August 15

Exhibition Dates: December 5 - 15, 2018

Location: New York, NY

Fee: $45 entry fee for up to 5 images, $5 for each additional image

Plein Air on the Santa Cruz

What: The Tubac Center of the Arts and Rancho Santa Cruz announce “Plein Air on the Santa Cruz,” Tubac’s first Plein Air Retreat and Workshop, culminating in an exhibition and sale. A variety of guest artist packages are available with or without meals and lodging at the ranch. All packages include paint outs, workshops, welcome reception, barbecue, Sunday brunch, and snacks, as well as the opportunity to show and sell work at the Tubac Center of the Arts during the Fall Arts Festival.

Who: Plein air artists

Seven Deadly Sins: Excellence in Photography

What: An international juried photography exhibition presented by Cotuit Center for the Arts. This year's theme is the seven deadly sins.  This broad category leaves room for your own unique interpretation of pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth.

Who: Photographers around the globe

Application Deadline: August 15

Exhibition Dates: October 13 - November 10, 2018

Opening Reception: October 13, 5-7 PM

Location: Cotuit, MA

Fee: $15 for one image, $10 for each additional image

Fine Print: During the course of the exhibit all entries will be featured in an online gallery on our website. Artists exhibiting at the Gallery may offer their work for sale at a price of their choosing. Cotuit Center for the Arts takes a 40% commission for all work sold. Please price accordingly. White Cube Residency – New Mexico

What: Each year Annex:art offers its White Cube Residency in San Fidel, New Mexico. This short-term, sponsored residency program is being offered in cooperation with Gallery 66, located in the historic Acoma Curio Shop. The program is open to creative individuals working in any genre, including visual art, music and literature. The residency is available for 2 – 4 weeks, includes studio workspace, living accommodations, $1000 stipend and an exhibition of the completed work.

Who: All artists. Must be 21 years old to participate and eligible to travel to and stay in the United States for the period of his/her residency.

Application Deadline: August 15

Residency Dates: September 15 - October 15 (annually)

Location: San Fidel, NM

Fee: $45

Core New Art Space: Flora & Fauna

What: Flora and fauna is the world of living things. What do they mean in today’s world? How do you relate to nature in today’s technological environment? CORE NEW ART SPACE invites artists to interpret their definition of Flora and Fauna for this juried exhibition.

Who: Artists working in all media

Application Deadline: August 16

Exhibition Dates: September 13 – September 30, 2018

2019 Napa Lighted Art Festival

What: Both artists and artist collaborative groups are encouraged to apply to have an installation featured at the Napa Lighted Art Festival. The festival supports the innovative techniques using light and light technologies as a growing art medium. Light itself in any form should be the actual artwork and we require that the role of light be essential to your concept.

Who: Public artists

Application Deadline: August 17

Festival Dates: January 12 - 20, 2019

Artist Reception: January 11

Location: Napa, CA

Fine Print: All artists must provide all of these items with their submission in order for it to be complete. For 2019, approximately 15 installations are being sought to receive a stipend between $2,000-$5,000. Learn more here.

 

Pacific States Biennial North American (PSBN) Juried Printmaking Exhibition

What: A juried exhibition for printmaking hosted by Art Department Print Studio at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.

Who: Printmakers, 18 years or older presently residing anywhere on the North American continent, its islands, and outlying US territories

Application Deadline: August 18

Exhibition Dates: November 2 - December 28, 2018

Location: Hilo, HI

Fee: $35 for up to 2 works

“Creativity Takes Courage” Exhibition

What: As defined: creativity is the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, and interpretations. This is a  juried exhibition for all media hosted by the Gainesville Fine Arts Association, Inc.

Who: Artists 18 and over

Application Deadline: August 19

Exhibition Dates: September 25 - November 12, 2018

Location: Gainesville, FL

Fee: $35 for up to 2 images

Artrooms Fair – Seoul 2018

What: Artrooms is the first international contemporary art fair offering free exhibition spaces to independent artists, innovating the way artists and buyers meet. After London and Rome, the Artrooms Fairs open a new edition in Seoul, South Korea.

Who: Artists around the world

Application Deadline: August 24

Exhibition Dates: October 26 – 28, 2018

Location: Seoul, South Korea

Fee: $35 for rooms, video art and sculpture applications, $70 for single work applications

2018 National Juried Photography Exhibition

What: An opportunity to exhibit the best of your photographic work at one of Southern New England’s finest art galleries with a 56-year history of promoting artistic excellence. Any photographic genre, substrate, process or perspective— contemporary, realistic, historical, abstract, experimental, or futuristic—is eligible.

Who: Photographers, 18 and over

BlackOut

What: Ashton Gallery would like to invite artists to submit original works of art for our 2018 "BlackOut" exhibition. If your piece features dominant black - or simply features black in a prominent way - it is eligible.

Who: U.S. artists

Exhibition Dates: October 27 - November 17, 2018

Opening Reception: October 27, 6-8 PM

Location: San Diego, CA

Fee: $35 for the first 2 entries, $5 for each additional images

Integrity: Arts & Culture Association Grants

What: Integrity: Arts & Culture (IACA) sponsors mini-grants for artists focusing on creative endeavors in the literary, performing, and visual arts. Grants are intended to assist with such things as art supplies, recording studio time, exhibits, performances, project-related expenses, etc.

Who: Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent legal resident, 18 years of age or older. High school or college undergraduate students may not apply. Graduate students may apply, but they do not fund tuition or student projects.

Application Deadline: August 31

Amount: Mini-Grants generally average $250

Fine Print: Within 30 days of the close of the project, they require 1-2 paragraphs describing how their support benefited you. Learn more here.

 

Artist Residency in Upstate NY

What: Main Street Arts is accepting applications for their residency program. Artists in residence have 24-hour access to a large studio on our second floor, the option to show work in the gallery, and the opportunity to teach paid workshops. Facilities include 200 sq. ft. studio spaces, an electric kiln, potters wheel, etching press, and more.

Who: Artists 18 years or older living in the United States

Application Deadline: August 31

Residency Dates: One or two months in October, November, or December 2018

Location: Clifton Springs, NY

Fee: None

Fine Print: Costs for Studio Only: $200 for 1 month or $350 for 2 months, Costs for Studio and Housing: $400 for 1 month or $700 for 2 months. Learn more here.

 

Fiberart International 2019

What: Fiberart International 2019 seeks to exhibit the best of contemporary art and invites submissions that reflect a wide range of works related to the fiber medium.

Who: Fiber artists worldwide, 18 years and older

Application Deadline: August 31

Exhibition Dates: May 10 - August 23, 2019

Opening Reception: May 10

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Fee: $45 for up to 3 entries

Aesthetica Art Prize

What: Celebrating excellence in art from across the world, the internationally renowned Aesthetica Art Prize offers both emerging and established artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience and further their engagement with the art world.

Two awards are available for entry: the Main Art Prize, open to all practitioners, and the Emerging Art Prize, open to current students and artists who have graduated within the last two years. Both awards include prize money for the winner, a group exhibition and editorial coverage in Aesthetica magazine.

Greenwich/Westchester International Art Fair Oct 2018

What: This October, the Greenwich/Westchester ArtFair presents a curated selection of up to 50 of the world’s most respected art galleries. As many as 50 artists will be selected from this Competition to display their original works at this four-day cultural event attended by the world’s leading primary dealers, as well as a highly-affluent concentration of prestigious collectors, interior designers, and corporate art curators.

Who: All international artists, 18 years and older

Application Deadline: August 31

Exhibition Dates: October 11 - 14, 2018

Opening Reception: October 13, 6-8 PM

Location: Purchase, NY

Fee: $75 for 3 images, $85 for 4 images, $95 for 5 images. The entry fee for 3 and 4 images includes a complimentary ticket to the ArtFair ($70.00 value), 5 images includes two tickets (value of $125.00).

Fine Print: Accepted media includes drawing, painting, photography, digital art and mixed media. Sculptures and three-dimensional work must be accompanied by a pedestal or base at the time of the artwork’s delivery. Learn more here.
