Kevin Hopkins was born in Tunbridge Wells, England in 1973. His family moved to Canada when Kevin was a year and a half old and he became a Canadian Citizen at the age of 15. Working as a computer programmer by trade, Kevin began carving stone in 2005. Since then, Kevin has sold works to private collectors in Canada, the United States and Indonesia. In the summer of 2015, Kevin participated in the Canadian Stone Carving Festival, a weekend long event where carvers have 16 hours to carve a block of limestone using only hand tools. At the end of the event, all pieces were sold with the proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. Kevin is beginning to work in other mediums and creating larger pieces.
