I started this Orchid series as a way to process my ancestral trip to Vietnam in 2024, my family’s migration, and ultimately as a mode of creative survival. They became a visual representation of what it means to put down roots. Orchids became a symbol of transience, vulnerability, and regeneration in my studio. They’re colorful and sprinkled with real gold, just like Vietnam and my heritage. They embody all my feelings about Vietnam, migration, my mother and starting over again in new soil. This series is also perfectly timed to help me process my imminent migration to New York and how I’ll be putting down new roots. Shipping these will be tricky. Local delivery or pickup only at the moment for SF/Bay Area, LA and NYC. Thanks for understanding.
