Homestead Gallery Showing of Mini Fiber Art Tapestry Collection from Annette

Unique artwork that repurposes lost treasures of fiber and jewelry into fabulous works of art. These creative pieces are hand woven on an old fashion metal loom. Yarns are a variety of fibers, mostly unique one of a kind, some not even made anymore. Many tapestry's have yarns of cotton, wool, linen, mohair, faux furs, string yarns, flag yarn, ladder, ribbon, silks, rayon, polyester, velvet, chenille and anything unusual. Everything goes through a rigorous cleaning, winding into a ball, color sorted all to showcase the unusual fibers that become an enchanting new tapestry. Jewelry pieces are found treasures that often become the inspiration for a tapestry. You may find a bracelet, pieces of jewelry taken apart and reworked, a pin or a whimsical accent all of high grade vintage jewelry finds. Items are cleaned with alcohol and refurbished to sparkle and enliven a work of art. You often find swarvski crystals added into these works of art. These treasures are often found at local non profit thrift shops that support a cause, my favorite supports the developmentally and intellectually challenged. New items created during the winter months when the snow falls outside the window and the fire keeps things toasty warm. 

These items are currently hanging in the Homestead Gallery in Berthoud, Colorado. I am excited to be able to hang on a gallery wall these unseen tapestries, if you get a chance to stop in you will not be disappointed.  New tapestries will be added monthly and I new size is being created with a more useable design I think you will find fun.  I look forward to your feedback as I continue to work through my boxes of vintage treasures~remember once these yarns are used up…these tapestries will no longer be produced!
