Jenny Lynn created DogTotem, a freestanding work of stacked photo cubes that combines
sculptures with photography, featuring images that juxtapose canine subjects with different
environments, expressions, and poses, showing them as both human companions and wild animals. Lighting silhouettes on the dog's head, allowing the shapes and size of the dog's ears, nose, and neck to be considered for their form apart from their purpose. Framing allows details such as a collar to highlight the dog's individuality as a pet and protector of humans. The close framing draws viewers to feel the emotions of the dog's alertness, curiosity, or nervousness.
