Australian Floral Blooms is a mixture of retro with a modern wallpaper and a explosion of florals. The vase is inspired by West German pottery and the wallpaper is my take on polka dots. The floral colours and shapes are purely instinctual as I don't use a photo reference for the composition. It is just how I see a bouquet in my mind when I start painting. This artwork is full of colour but is still soft and soothing due to the soft colours in the wallpaper and highlights of pastels throughout the painting.
My style is all about strong contrasting colours, extreme perspectives and over-emphasizing certain aspects of the subject matter. Its what makes a truly unique artwork that would suit your home, office or even your workshop! (well I think so anyway).
