This piece shines a light on the plight of American wild horses.
Once numbering two million in the 1800s, only 80,000 remain, with 50,000 in captivity. Pressure to sell them for slaughter grows. These once-free creatures now live confined lives.
The white is a nod to all those horses disappearing from our landscape. The tumultuous background references the deafening noises of the helicopters and the chaos caused while corralling these wild creatures creatures.
The bright colors keep hope in the mix that humans can exist in balance with these horses.
