This artwork celebrates the positive shift in the plight of African Wild Dogs, previously endangered due to wildlife conflict. Serpentine-like shapes in the backdrop reflect this festive mood.

Enforcement of protective programs has led to a slow yet definite recovery of their population. Once numbering 50,000, their count dwindled to around 5,000, but today, with over 7,000, there's reason to rejoice, even with the modest increase.

These social creatures thrive in bonded packs of 10-50, closely collaborating for mutual protection. With heightened hearing and the ability to sprint as fast as greyhounds, they possess unique traits.

Vibrant colors evoke optimism, radiating hope instead of despair.

As with much of my work, the final process involves carefully placing symbols that intersect cultures, objects, and moments in time. These clusters are my way of searching for balance—within the piece and within myself—amidst a chaotic world. It becomes a visual prayer, distilling complexity into a hopeful narrative of harmony and connection.

Arranged as a landscape, the symbols reference chaos with habitat loss, an ever-present threat to these creatures.
