My lovely friend Dr Margi Brown Ash. A highly acclaimed actor, director, and art therapist.
Drawn from results of a sitting and photo session at her Brisbane home on a cold August day in 2019. Margi was extremely courageous and generous to honour her commitment to this sitting, as her brother had passed away suddenly the night before. Her sadness hung heavily in the air, and this powerhouse of a woman was uncharacteristically quiet. Her usually effervescent-self absent. With this portrait I aimed to capture the tender rawness of her emotions in the moment as she gazed out the window. Her eyes seemed to portray a bittersweet reminiscence of some fond memory perhaps? It was an honour to work on this challenging piece. Thank you Margi. x
