I was inspired to paint this stunning purple sunrise, from a photograph taken by my friend and neighbour Sarah. For a time we lived on the same street in Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast, Australia. It's rare for me to use photo reference that isn't my own, but this image captivated me, and reminded me of good times sitting on that beach bench with friends.
