After the Acadian mountains washed out over 1 million years the remaining sea bed was carved by glaciers 10,000 years ago, making a new mountain range and valley.
The glaciers carved through the sedimentary rock to form the valleys and mountains that are the Catskills today. My studio faced this valley and I painted these sedimentary rocks formed from the compressed delta of the Acadian Mountains.
