My model for this piece was a young 13 year old girl who posed in a tee-shirt and jeans. She commented that she liked how I changed the model's personas, so I asked her what she would like to be. A princess, she answered. Hence the title. She had a rather regal look on her face, so I gave her some pearls in her hair, some roses in her hands, changed her jeans to a pink, frothy skirt, and changed the chair to a fancier Settee. Plus a crystal ball sits behind her on the seat to symbolize how we can change ourselves with our thoughts...magical thinking.
I worked this piece with a limited palette - only pinks, browns, grays, blues, black and white - no yellow.
