The foreground is painted in Acrylic and the sky in Oil.
This still life was put together to symbolize the elements of a broken relationship. The pearls stand for a string of years dedicated to a commitment, now broken. All that is left of that relationship is a single feather from the dove, the element of love, whose wings are partly raised as if to fly off. The crystal ball imparts the wish that we could have foretold this event. The color yellow in a rose can sometimes mean hope for the future; however, the rose seems to by dying. The composition is somewhat open to give the impression of emptiness/freedom.
