Dragonflies express transformation and emergence. This symbolic Dragonfly expresses Susan Detroy's biological and botanical affinities channeled into primitive and brightly colored ink painting. “Mythic Animals” are humorous, compassionate and strong. Child-like in process and formed with no judgment of self or end result. Like all of Susan’s artwork the imagery connects to a deep interior self. In the “Mythic Animals” the self is ancient with knowledge of primordial symbols, drawing in an ageless manner and always connecting with nature’s animal spirit.
