Part of a series called "event horizon." I started and finished this painting in January 2019 with an image closely associated with Martin Luther King, Jr. in mind: "the arc of the universe is long, but it bends toward justice." As is so often the case, the plains were also on my mind; so the painting became an abstract landscape that is also a meditation on the "shape" of the universe.
