“My inspiration in my artwork is fueled by my desire to portray the serenity and beauty of ranch life in South Dakota. This piece depicts the vast, wide-open prairie on a large South Dakota cattle ranch. Thus, the title, relating to the freedom and far-reaching horizon, where this rancher can ride and care for his livestock. You can see the breeze bending the prairie grasses as he – with this cow horse and his trusty working cow dog – are watching from a high bluff as the cattle are trailing out to summer pasture.”
