“I opened my studio in the early ‘90s and did a lot of horse and dog commissions to keep the lights on. Doing so honed my craft. Today, bringing people to the wide-open spaces around them — it feeds my soul. My function as an artist is to provide a window into the natural habitat of the animals I paint. If I grab the feeling of an early morning sunrise, whistle of wings overhead, or smell of cut grain, I've done my job well.”
