I had originally called this painting 'Darien's Peak' after the poem by John Keats. It describes the sense of wonder when looking at something unknown and mysterious for the first time from a high vantage point. I later decided to change the title to 'SilverLining' referring to a similar moment of wonder just before the sunlight comes out from behind the clouds. I wanted to create a sense of the ephermeral, like clouds racing in the sky, merged with the lines of colour that grow and mutate in both a fluid and sculptural fashion.
