This painting is inspired by a recent trip to Bariloche, south Argentina where I came across an intriguing carpenter's wooden hut tucked away in the woods. Shortly after completing the painting the world shut down as a result of the Corona virus and the wooden hut for me took on a new meaning of refuge. The title 'Alberger' means shelter in Spanish and for me signifies not only a place of refuge but also a sense of retrospection, a moment to pause and in our fast moving world.
