I had the joy of traveling to Victoria Island, B.C., in search of rare Himalayan blue poppies. This poppy was already losing its petals. The gesture or movement of those that remained reminded me of a sexy gown or perhaps a cape flying freely in the wind. The words that came to mind courtesy of a favorite teacher and mentor were Ta-Da. This blossom is boldly announcing that it is here and that perhaps it could fly away at any moment.
