The latest in my La Fleur Avec Noir (The Flower With Black) collection has arrived. In addition to the beauty of the two double tulips, the curvy leaves caught my eye. The gracefully curved leaf reaches to the right while the petals are open for us to see the flower’s interior in more detail. A French proverb says, “The tulip is, among flowers, what the peacock is among birds. A tulip lacks scent, a peacock has an unpleasant voice. The one takes pride in its garb, the other in its tail.”
