Selected Works

These paintings represent Mason’s current body of work, developed from direct plein air observation and completed in the studio. Each piece begins in front of the subject, where light, atmosphere, and structure are recorded from life, and is later refined into a finished composition that preserves the immediacy of the original experience.

Mason’s work has been recognized by the Art Renewal Center, the Almenara Art Prize, and Plein Air Magazine’s Plein Air Salon, reflecting a commitment to classical discipline and contemporary realism.

The Luxury of Enough

The Luxury of Enough is a meditation on quiet abundance — the kind found not in excess, but in presence. These paintings explore the richness of ordinary moments: open space, unhurried time, familiar places, and the gentle rhythms of lived experience.

In a culture that often equates luxury with more, this body of work reflects on the sufficiency of what already surrounds us — land that breathes, light that lingers, paths that invite wandering, and the simple comfort of being exactly where we are.

Through oil painting, I focus on atmosphere, stillness, and emotional resonance. Figures, when present, are not the subject but participants in a larger harmony between people and place. The landscapes hold memory and invitation at once — offering viewers room to reflect, to exhale, and to rediscover the fullness of “enough.”

This series is an affirmation that abundance can be quiet, and that a spacious life is often built from simple moments deeply noticed.
