I painted this little plein air gem during the Strada 2022 30 Day Challenge. It was inspired by this little crepe myrtle I saw from my dad's back deck during the Labor Day weekend while I was visiting. I wanted to get more fluent in the "shadows" area of my skills. I really wanted to hone in on what is really happening with interpreting bounds and reflected light etc. and how I can best convey what I am seeing. I still have some work to do but alas, I don't think I will ever stop the learning process to improve my technique!
