This piece came from experimenting with plastic food bags as print plates—inking one in black, the other in a blue-black mix.
The first impression, in black, felt almost fossil-like—its form recalling something root-bound and organic, like a sprouting potato. I layered in another pull to build more texture, then returned with red thread, stitching into the surface to mark and activate the space.
The sewn lines introduce rhythm and tension, offering contrast to the quiet, organic form beneath.
