Remnant began as a monoprint pulled from a scratched plexiglass plate during a residency at Cortijo el Moro in Andalucía. The circular forms and pink ground marked an intentional shift in palette, opening the work to further exploration. I carried the piece with me to Spain, where it continued to evolve through layers of chine-collé and a black gelli print anchored at its center.

A broken ceramic shard discovered on site became both tool and collaborator, pressing a vertical grid into the surface that suggests architectural windows or openings. Additional white linear marks and wind-blown organic gestures trace movement across the composition, referencing erosion, memory, and the passage of time.

The work considers transformation—how fragments accumulate meaning, and how traces of place remain long after departure.
