These six individual 8.5 x 8.5 mixed-media works were created during my residency at Cortijo el Moro in Andalucía, each built on handmade paper using acrylic paint and chine collé. A green-gold acrylic ground anchors the surfaces, where mark-making, etched lines, and scratched textures disrupt and reveal layers of weathered pigment. Forms emerge subtly—part drawing, part memory—shaped by an intuitive process. Together, the pieces echo the stillness of the place: sun-soaked cobblestones, abandoned buildings, and the quiet sense of time resting lightly over the landscape.
