Pyramid Peak is an obsession for some ski and sumer mountaineers, and it has had a powerful attraction for geographers, artists, geologists and photographers for over 150 years.
1874 description by the Hayden Survey while gazing at Pyramid Peak and the Bells. “The texture of these beds is very variable. Conglomerates varying from a fine pudding-stone to a coarse aggregate occur all through the mass, but are not continuous. The entire group indicates deposition in disturbed waters.”
