"Nude on Flowered Drape" is a larger piece--36" x 18". It was painted from life in a single session, with many of Griffin Thibodeaux's signature featues: a dark background with circular motion, a nude in the foreground at rest, and the story of the painting creating a strong light effect on the torso and tapering out as the eye reaches the legs and feet. The floral drape is the only decoration, and the strong touches of pink and green dot the drapery and give this painting an emotional resonance of strength and vitality that echo the strong warm color of the nude itself.
