A bus brake squeals

My paintings experiment with the anxiety and inner hopes for an urban setting. I work with patterns and perspectives found in my memories, and recall the energy of a setting while I create in a prose like flow. I experiment with texture and design and how the materials respond to the subjectivity and disrupted modern experience. Open to where each scene takes me, allows my process to reveal an ethereal poetic composition.
Soft images extracted from my mind, guided by my hand, reveals an expressive image full of space or movement. Each landscape presents itself with a different perspective that immerses the viewer into an underlying sense of calm and wonder.
The essence of an urban setting can feel chaotic, and my painterly expressions always land on the opposite serene escape for the viewer. These works are created with acrylics rooted in my years of experience with oils, watercolors and calligraphic mark making.
