Playful Perspectives - Art by Sandra Mucha (moo·ka)
"Using a limited palette and various art supplies, palette knife and acrylic paints these abstract expressionistic works bring my mixed media worlds to life. I capture the movement and patterns of the elements that I have experienced at different times of my life.
My swooping and serene perspectives experiment with the essence of an urban or rural bird’s-eye perspective. These dynamic and ethereal compositions immerses the viewer into an underlying sense of calm and wonder. As I create it is rooted in play, and exploring my art with technology, drawings and paintings.
My interest in bending shapes started at an early age. I recall the first time twisting and stretching a transferred newspaper comic with Silly Putty. My curvilinear images are inspired by extreme temperatures and different terrains. I was uprooted from whirling blizzards of western New York to the melting and sometimes visually warping flatland of Texas summers.
Today, I am influenced by our constant changing climates here in North Texas. I am excited to see what unfolds on my canvas after my recent travels to the Southwest's windy white sand national park."
