Growth – Survival began as a limestone block originally intended to become a Sephardic Torah. As Antar carved, the work evolved into an intricate composition of grapes, vines, and leaves that climb across a stone wall. The structure evokes both ancient masonry and vineyard architecture, grounding the sculpture in imagery tied to endurance and renewal. Created during a period marked by personal and global uncertainty, the work naturally shifted toward themes of resilience. The final form captures the idea of growth emerging from constraint, using the permanence of stone to reflect continuity, strength, and the endurance of natural life.
