Additions reflects Robin Antar’s longstanding interest in pattern, repetition, and geometric relationships. Originally conceived as a simple composition of two interlocking forms, the work took an unexpected turn when a fabrication error altered the intended cuts. Rather than discard the piece, Antar embraced the change, reworking it into a dynamic arrangement of geometric elements inspired by the visual rhythms of her early pattern drawings and paintings. The resulting sculpture explores how individual forms relate to one another, transforming an unforeseen disruption into a meditation on adaptation, balance, and the unexpected paths that shape both art and life.
