The Soul Blog # 24
The Soul is the spiritual immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarding as immortal. For an artist that is spiritual. The Soul is an emotional and intellectual energy or intensity, especially as revealed in a work of art. My painting called The Soul is being created as I write this blog.
I just watched my son pass away. His body was racked with cancer and could not fight it anymore, the many operations, chemo, radiation, even isotope therapy could not save his body. I was given the opportunity to observe him over the last two weeks of his life. Sitting next to him with mask on. I felt incredibly sad and helpless. My mind wondered over the many memories we shared and the fact that I created this human, and I could not save him physically, but I thought about what will live on besides the memories, his SOUL. That energy force that death could not take. The Soul was there before we are born and lives on after we physical return to dust. I believe the force of creation begins before we are physical born like a painting is created before the first brush stroke is applied. The sculpture is created before the first removal of stone the Soul of that rock is the artist just reveals it to us so we can enjoy the finished work.
His death gave me a new inspiration to continue to create until my Soul is called home. The human experience needs to be lived over time. Time is that period between being born, and the body pass on, but the Soul will continue forever until it finds another body God wants to put it into. The saying this is Gods waiting room is not for the living, it is the waiting room for the Soul to pass through after God decides, not man.
What does the Soul look like? This painting is my creation of a Soul. Warm colors mixed in no defined shape, a free form moving in all directions. The Soul never stops moving does not need sleep, does not feel hot or cold, is in constant movement, does not follow a pattern only lives in a place we call haven, a state of being eternally in the presence of God after physical death. The Soul never is at rest the purest form of energy. When we say, ”may his Soul rest in peace”, I think it means the Soul has no pain it is at peace because it is free to expand or contract its energy and not living in a human body until God finds a new body for it to continue forever. A “Soul Mate” is that force in another human body suited to another with a lifelong bond. I think people can have many Soul Mates some as a romantic bond other as a platonic partner. This depends on the size and the capabilities of each Soul.
My Soul is a large creative energy force and needs to live in a creative always exploring boundless body. What is your Soul like? Over never out………..
