- Dancing in the Moonlight- HISTORIC
- Steel
"Dancing in the Moonlight" by Jordan Parah was featured in the Art in Roanoke 2017 to 2018 temporary exhibition. On the application cover page for the exhibition, Parah wrote that her work is inspired by movement and nature. Parah connects contrasting forms, shapes, and colors harmoniously. “Dancing in the Moonlight” emphasized this with the idea that people are different, yet all are equal. That “every individual matters in creating a prosperous society.”
Stated in the "City in Motion- Elmwood Art Walk" webpage, the 9.5’ tall sculpture is made of painted steel and does seem to dance with its colorful curved sections. Parah describes her art work as “utilizing contrasting forms and colors constructed in a harmonious manner to create harmony out of diversity.”
