Again and again, I find inspiration in the landscape -- and village-scape -- here in Mureş. The skies are constantly changing and the sunsets frequently dramatic. On my walk back home in the village of Dumitrestii, I was struck by the silhouettes of electricity pylons against the last glimmers of the sunset.
The dark area of shadow at the bottom of the painting hides a world of detail. I have rendered vegetation and fencing there in glaze, which is visible to the human eye, but lost to the camera. Two detailed photos are added here to give an indication of these features.
