As a youngster growing up in small-town Florida with seven siblings, it was a rare treat when our parents took us on a road trip to visit some of Florida's tourist attractions. I remember one trip to Cypress Gardens when there were only four of us kids in the car, and we were mesmerized by the waterskiing shows. We would stroll through the lush gardens, greeted warmly by ladies in antebellum dresses and big smiles. Florida Memories I brings back that sense of wonder and family adventure, blending painted elements and photographic details to capture the charm of vintage Americana—the weathered motel sign, bright hibiscus flowers, and iconic pink flamingos all layered in a vibrant, dreamy collage. This piece is a personal tribute to those joyful road trips and the nostalgic spirit of Florida’s past. (Can be paired with "Florida Memories II".)
