Viamalo is an encaustic seascape painted in response to the vivid shoreline vistas of Tonga. With shimmering layers of cerulean, turquoise, and violet, the painting evokes the light and moving waters of the lagoon framed by distant island trees and white clouds drifting overhead. Available signed, Giclee, fine art prints.
The surface texture—achieved through the ancient technique of encaustic—mimics the ripple of water over sand and reef, giving the viewer a tactile experience of the shoreline. Every detail, from the warm ivory of the beach to the subtle shifts in ocean depth, invites immersion and presence.
Part of a larger body of work reflecting on my travels to the south pacific Viamalo is both deeply personal and universally resonant—honoring the beauty of faraway places and the emotions I carried home.
