STATEMENT: Snow often magically transforms the well-known places of our lives into new vistas. The contrast between the warm light in the kitchen windows and blue snow was key. I build up a painting in layers using whatever brush stroke or tool best conveys a particular texture or detail or feeling. Expressing the truth of a scene is my goal.
