I love elephants. They are a symbol of my sorority Delta Sigma Theta so I have collected elephants for over 4o years. I love their quiet strength.
So when I saw this pattern by Violet Craft, I knew this elephant had to be part of my red and white quilt collection. I named my interpretation of the pattern “Seeking Strength.”
The quilt is paper pieced and the pattern is easy to follow. I love the pedicure. 😁 It is pieced and quilted by machine. My friend Maxine Moore did the machine quilting.
After adding two borders, the quilt is rather large. It measures 64 x 66 inches. There is elephant fabric on the back to carry out the theme and a label that documents the quilt.
I love the majesty of the elephant, and I can’t wait to see her in my book of red and white quilts due out this fall.
